Muhammad Zawish: Talk at CS Colloquium at St. Louis University

Last week on Wednesday, I had the honor of being invited by Professor Flavio Esposito, who is hosting me here in the US, to give a talk at Computer Science Colloquium series at Saint Louis University, USA. The audience comprised over 150 students pursuing Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science @ Saint Louis University.

The Department of Computer Science Colloquium series provides a platform for faculty members and guest speakers to share insights into current research and developments in the field. It was an engaging experience interacting with students at various academic levels, discussing the complexities of my research and exploring ways to make AI more environmentally friendly.

As part of my NGI Enrichers Transatlantic fellowship, I discussed my ongoing Ph.D. research, generously funded by VistaMilk and Walton Institute, SETU, Ireland. The focus of my talk was on deep learning model compression and optimization, specifically addressing energy efficiency issues in contemporary AI. I highlighted the importance of moving towards greener AI solutions.

I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the Colloquium series and share my perspectives on the future of AI. It’s heartening to see the interest and enthusiasm of students in these discussions. I look forward to more such opportunities in the future.
